Frequently asked questions

Yes. The QR code is encoded entirely on your device with an in-page library. On this site, the text or URL you enter is not uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.

No. The QR code is a static image that encodes your link or text directly. There is no tracking redirect and no account, so it keeps working as long as the destination you pointed it at exists.

Use PNG for quick sharing and most on-screen or document use. Use SVG for print or large formats — it is a vector, so it stays perfectly sharp at any size.

Higher error correction lets a code still scan when part of it is dirty, damaged, or covered by a small logo, at the cost of a denser pattern. Medium is a good default; raise it to High if the code will be printed small or placed where it might get scuffed.

Very long text combined with a high error-correction level can exceed what a QR code can hold. Shorten the text, switch to a short URL, or lower the error-correction level.
